Master of Wine
Lewinsohn Winery was established in 2007 by Ido Lewinsohn, together with his father Amnon.l
Ido is a Master of Wine, the highest possible recognition of professional knowledge and expertise in the world of wine. Candidates are required to successfully complete the most stringent wine tasting tests held anywhere and only the most successful earn to right to use the initials MW. The MW qualification has been awarded in London since 1955 to a small number of wine professionals each year. Today, there are only about 100 MW’s who are winemakers worldwide.l
Winery Visit
Lewinsohn Winery team are wine people: “we love wine and we love to host!”. The winery is open for wine lovers, connoisseurs, wine professionals or people who are curious and want to learn. Guests can meander amongst the barrels and tanks, and hear an explanation about the vineyards and the winemaking process from a dedicated team of wine guides. On arrival at the winery there is a choice of between different tasting options accompanied by cheeses and other goodies.l
The winery can also host larger groups but only by prior arrangement. The options are to hold private events, business meetings, or special workshops in our barrel room. These can be on various topics such as grape varieties, growing regions and more, hosted by the winery’s experts.l
A place to meet, schmooze, eat drink and be merry! In the evenings, the winery yard turns into a lively wine bar where you can drink Lewinsohn wines along with other wines from Israel and the rest of the world, by bottle or glass, accompanied by good food. The wine bar is open from Monday to Saturday from 18:00 to 23:00 and includes a large courtyard where bar tables are laid out for sitting. In addition, there is a central seating area inside the winery next to the barrels, the tanks and wine production area. In addition to the winery’s wines, there is an extra selection of personal favorites available, accompanied by unique pizzas from Nono and classic wine bar dishes created by chef Einav Berman.l
